I recently stayed at Grey Street Hotel, and there were some really great aspects, like the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. However, I faced some issues with noise from both inside and outside, which made getting a good night's sleep quite difficult. The room size was on the smaller side, and I didn't find the mattress very comfortable. Overall, it's a mixed bag, depending on what you're looking for in a stay.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was cozy but somewhat small, and I struggled with the mattress, which felt uncomfortably inclined. The bathrooms were standard and lacked sufficient handles for getting out of the tub.
Service
9.0
The staff were really good, always friendly and willing to help with any inquiries I had during my stay. Their courteousness genuinely made me feel welcome.
Location
8.0
The hotel's central location is a massive plus, making it convenient to access various restaurants, bars, and shops. I found it easy to get around the city, as everything was just a short walk away.
Dining
5.0
While the bar and restaurant were undergoing refurbishment, I did rely on room service, which was okay. I would have preferred a wider range of dining options within the hotel, especially during my stay.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities like the housekeeping were up to par, but the ongoing refurbishment left me without access to some amenities I would expect from a hotel of this caliber.

6.8/10

My recent stay at Grey Street Hotel had its ups and downs. The location is simply fantastic—right in the heart of the city, close to bars and restaurants 🎉. However, noise from nearby bars made my nights a bit challenging, affecting my overall comfort. The staff were friendly and responsive, which was a plus, but some issues, such as cleanliness in my room, were disappointing.

Rooms
5.0
My room was adequate but had cleanliness issues, like items left from previous guests. The noise from the nearby bar was disruptive too.
Service
5.0
Staff were generally friendly and apologetic, but I experienced inconsistency in service quality, especially regarding room preparation.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is ideal for nightlife and is just a short walk from key attractions, making it very convenient.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was good with a decent variety, though I was disappointed with some items' freshness.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were modern and functional, though I felt some rooms could benefit from better maintenance and quietness.

I had a pleasant stay at Grey Street Hotel, enjoying the spacious room and its cleanliness. The staff were super friendly and made my experience enjoyable. However, the noise from a nearby nightclub was pretty distracting at night, which affected my ability to sleep soundly.

Rooms
8.0
My room was spacious and adorned in modern decor, but it did feel a bit dark since it lacked natural light. The bathroom was massive, which was definitely a plus. However, the chilly temperature made it less comfortable at times.
Service
10.0
The staff were incredibly warm and helpful throughout my stay, addressing my concerns promptly and even assisting with my luggage when I had a leg injury. This really enhanced my overall experience with their service.
Location
9.0
The location was spot-on, just five minutes from the train station, perfect for an easy arrival. Plus, I was close to lots of bars and restaurants in the city which made dining out a breeze.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was lovely with a good variety, but at £15, I thought it was a bit over the top. The ambiance in the dining area was nice, though, making it a pleasant spot to start the day.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel boasted nice facilities, but I was disappointed that the spa wasn't open during my stay. Still, having a bar on site was a nice touch for winding down after a day out.

I recently spent a weekend at the Grey Street Hotel for my 30th birthday. The location was truly unbeatable, right in the heart of Newcastle's nightlife. The staff were friendly and quick to resolve a minor issue I had with my room. However, I did notice that some areas, like the bathrooms, could use a bit of maintenance to really match the charm of the place.

Rooms
Service
8.0
Staff members were incredibly polite and helpful. They made our stay smoother by addressing our needs quickly, like the balloon decorations for my birthday. Room service was efficient, but I felt the restaurant closure should've been communicated better.
Location
9.0
The central location couldn't have been more convenient. I was steps away from bars, restaurants, and key attractions like the Tyne Bridge and Sage Centre. The vibrancy of the area was fantastic, although street noise was noticeable at night.
Dining
6.0
Though the restaurant was under renovation during my stay, the bar service was still available when I ordered drinks. However, the limited options due to the renovations were a bit disappointing.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel could benefit from some updated facilities, as I found the common areas a bit worn. I liked having a bar and the possibility of room service, but I wished for more amenities like a mini fridge in the room.

I had a mixed experience at Grey Street Hotel in Newcastle. The location was fantastic and made exploring the city super easy. I appreciated the friendly staff and comfortable room, but I found some aspects of the stay lacking, specifically in terms of attention to detail and room upkeep.

Rooms
7.0
My room was spacious and comfortable, but there were a few issues like missing coffee supplies and the shower being oddly set up. I also noticed the room needed some redecorating, and some noise from outside was a bit distracting.
Service
8.0
The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, which was a big plus. But I felt like some could benefit from better training on handling guest issues more proactively.
Location
9.0
The hotel’s central location was definitely a highlight, making it super convenient to reach attractions and restaurants, though the noise levels from the bustling city could sometimes be a drawback.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast options were quite good—fresh and tasty—but I did think the pricing was a bit steep compared to nearby options. I also struggled to get staff's attention at times during breakfast.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had nice amenities, like a well-decorated bar area and a restaurant, but I wish there were more facilities to enhance relaxation without needing to go out.
